Thallus fruticose, 1-3 cm across, branches inflated to 5 cm tall, hollow units from a common holdfast. Apothecia terminal to 1cm across. Spot tests: medulla K+red; C-; KC-; P+red; UV-.
Ecology: On Olea europaea branches
Location: Rec of Montjoi, Roses. Cap de Creus Natural Park.
Climate: North coast Mediterranean climate (Tmm=14.7ºC, AT=15ºC, 485 mm)
New record for the Cap de Creus Natural Park, found at the BioBlitz Vall de Montjoi 2023.
Species proposed for the red list of lichens of Catalonia. There are 5 known locations of this species in Catalonia. The greatest risk is the alteration of coastal habitats due to anthropogenic pressure.
