Cetraria islandica

Fruticose, thallus brown or green-grey, spinulate, with pseudocyphellae. Apothecia very rare, ocated at the apex of the lobes, with crenulated thalline margin.

Distribution: Circumpolar, arctic-alpine to boreal-montane, optimum high mountain.
